She was sure that she had overshot her destination... or maybe she hadn't gone far enough? Whisper found herself all turned about without her mother to lean against or her brother to prattle in her ear, pointing out familiar landmarks that didn't seem familiar at all, even though of the two of them, she was the closest to the height she had been when they had left. With a pursing of her lips, she continued to trudge, certain that eventually she would find something or someone that knew where her home was.
The distant sounds of screaming should have sent her running after her encounter with the wolf-dogs. Her naked leg and torn up shoulder itched in warning, but she pushed the instinct down for now. If someone was being hurt, hell there might not be much to her but there was no way Whisper Fatalis was going to stand by and let anyone get away with it.
The red sky was eerily reminiscent of the way the lava reflected off the stones in that cavern and she practiced her breathing exercises. In through the nose, out through the mouth, in for four, hold and out for four...
It did little to ease the racing of her heart.
But a distraction would come in the form of a man scaping his horns against one of the terrifying spikes that seemed to thrust through the earth like a compound fracture. Her lavender eyes widened slightly, he looked rather fearsome with all those scars... but she had scars too. "I don't recall this place..." She finally broke the silence, allowing her tail to wave in greeting at her back. There wasn't much of her to be intimidated by unless you considered the goose that towered over her as it waddled into sight.
"Do you think the earth shook it loose in the night or has it been here for some time?"
