Clove followed the deer’s scent through the plateau, using her raven companion as a second set of eyes, until she closed in on it. She found it grazing in a large clearing- one surrounded by lush underbrush and large boulders, which gave her a place to hide. Crouching down into the foliage, she watched the deer for several moments, debating her ability to take it down alone. But maybe she wouldn’t have to. On the other side of the clearing, a shimmer of deep, silver eyes caught her attention- her breath catching in her throat, as she was thrown off guard. A male wolf was here, and he was already staring at her, issuing a warning. Her ears folded back, and she sunk lower to the ground- showing him she was not here to steal the deer for herself.

But that didn’t mean they couldn’t share it.

Clove understood her strengths well- she was better suited for startling and chasing prey. She could drive the deer to the male, and let him take care of the rest. Drawing a deep breath, Clove readies herself. Then, she leaps out from her hiding spot, barking and snapping her jaws at the deer. It startles, whirls around, and starts running toward Flare.
