The submissive nature of his hunting party told him all he needed to know. She would be no threat to him. It was also clear very shortly that she knew how to hunt. She startled the deer, and sent it thundering towards him. He grinned, baring fangs as he waited until it was close to where he hid in the grasses.

Once the sound of its hooves signalled it was close enough, he leaped forward. Hitting the side of the deer hard, and sending it tumbling to the earth. He dodged carefully around its dangerous hooves, and went for the throat. Digging his teeth in hard as he both suffocated it, and bled it. In moments it was dead.
