Hanako had changed, she'd claim for the better. Clinging on so tightly to Azure had...well, brought her life to standstill for the longest time. She'd waited and waited and he just- never came back. And more than anything, more than the hurt and loneliness she'd been insulted. Because she had given him everything and- she exhaled slowly as the ice of her eyes reflected the red sky. It did not frighten her, she had felt the world inch so close to its end once before, these days she felt...sturdy in her resolve, she'd learned a lot about herself and of course was still a bitch.
She didn't need to change, she was perfect the way she was. Her people had told her as much. Had taken her in when she had nowhere to go, tended to her wounds and mind; she was waited on paw and foot- all for a price she was happy enough to pay. Even living in the darkness hadn't been so bad, her skin was soft and pale, burned easily. Maybe she should have moved underground long ago.
Eying the spires before her, Hanako exhaled softly, sharp and jagged. She moved carefully, steps dainty and light as she stepped over the cracks that webbed across the dried out dirt. A slight rumble could be felt beneath her paws, jostling the tiny rocks and pebbles. Still, she was not afraid, but if someone showed up it might be worth putting on the mask.
