She said, "We can go to yours / Do you have a bed frame? / Does it have a headboard?"

With the high heat of summer, plenty of beasts were out and about with their new young. It was a dangerous time. Grazing animals could be surprisingly aggressive if they thought their young were threatened... which he supposed he intended to do. Threaten them. Kat slunk along, darting between the grasses, before he caught sight of a large herd of bison. They splashed and grunted through the water, casting their water upon a female around his age. She danced back gracefully, shaking out her striped fur. Katsurō lurched to an uncharacteristically stilted stop, still in his hunter's crouch. He'd been tracking a rabbit but he'd lost the scent entirely now. He changed his path, slinking closer towards her but keeping a healthy distance. Kat hadn't met anyone in Boreas yet, had barely ever interacted with anyone outside of his family. He wasn't quite sure how to be. "Careful," he rasped, motioning towards the herd with a massive paw. All of him was still too big. He looked like a boy wearing his father's coat, but it was body, and he couldn't take that off easily. "They're violent this time of year, to protect their young," he cautioned. In between the hulking bodies of the heifers and their bull, you could spy the spindly legs of their calves. |
