Watch the sun rise

Before Reaper could examine anything further , the sounds of paw steps and a familiar scent entered the area. He turned his head to see Widow approaching them, to which he dipped his head respectfully. "My Queen." He greeted her then turned back to Mae. He gave her a reassuring nudge with his pink nose. "I won't let anything happen to you." He muttered closely into the shell of Mae's ear lovingly. He refocused back in Widow and cleared his throat. "They appear to have some strange writing on them." He confirmed what Mae was saying. Just in the nick of time, his gaze looked over to see Mae reaching to touch the spike. He took his left red paw and gently slapped away Mae's paw. "Now now, let's not touch them yet." He scolded lightly. He bounded over to a spike nearby and began examining it's writing, to see if it matched the one they had originally arrived at. He noticed the ground was softer here. He tilted his head curiously before using a paw to press down on the soft soil. "I think there might be something hidden underneath them!" He called over to Mae and Widow. Cautiously, the Bloodjaw began to dig at the soft soil. Churning pawful after lawful of soft dirt away from the spike.
