Putting theory into practice

Solaire kept his ears trained on Clove to listen to her story while she worked and made a soft "ahhh" of understanding as soon as she said she was leaping over some rocks. He chuckled a little and nodded as he finished up cleaning off her paw and rinsing the wound, putting the now dirty cloth off to the side. "Happens all the time," he assured her while reaching for the first vial of medicine and pulling the cork from it with his teeth, still holding her paw still in his other paw. The little accidents and mishaps while out exploring were totally understandable. He mostly just wanted to make sure that she hadn't gotten attacked by something or something else more nefarious than an accident.
When he tipped the vial over the cut the liquid that poured out was fairly viscous, making it fairly easy for him to coat the wound without it spilling everywhere. When there was enough of the concoction to coat the cut well he put the vial back on the small table beside him and used one of his claws to gently and carefully spread it over the edges that he'd missed. "This will just help make sure it doesn't get infected and should take away some of the pain so it's easier to walk," he explained before swapping over to a small pot of a sticky substance that he used to seal the edges of the wound together. He sat there for a moment with both of his paws on hers, lightly pressing the edges of the cut together until the herbal glue of sorts had begun to dry and do its job.
A few moments later he had wrapped her paw securely–but not too tightly–with bandages and took them up around her ankle a bit so that they'd be secure and not slip off while she was walking. "There you go!" he said proudly, leaning back to examine his work with a grin. "Just try not to get it wet and come back to have one of us change out the bandages and reapply the ointment occasionally until it's healed, okay?" Once his sister confirmed that she understood he nodded and let her go, trying to keep his tail from wagging too much so that he still looked professional. He couldn't wait to tell Aunt Gwyn!
