Two times the charm

The day was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, although a little too much for her liking. It was hot out for sure. However, there were herbs that needed stocking before falls and winter came. Alaric, one of her less friendly rescuers, had reluctantly agreed to follow her to the basin to help her gather the herbs. She disappeared into some thicket, knowing his gaze would be watchful.

She was humming a soft song as she sniffed out the herbs. Her focus was strong as she found her after her, gathering them within her delicate maws. Then, the scent of two grizzley bears entered his nose. She froze in place, dropping the herbs immediately. There, in front of her not even ten feet away she saw it. The large and imposing predator. Her tail tucked instinctively. Her ears flattened against her skull. She let out a loud scream of fear, her heart sunk to the bottom of her chest. This was it. She was going to die.

Out of nowhere, Alaric seemed to appear. She watched as he bravely charged for the bear behind her. Seconds later, Maul and Cinder were charging the first bear. She shook in fear. She swallowed shards of glass in her throat. What should she do? She never fought a bear before! She never had to. But Alaric was risking his life...for her. She had to to something. She ran forwards for the bear that Alaric was fighting, straight for it. It was about to swipe at Alaric! She dove in and landed a nasty bite of its paw, shaking her head. This was crazy! What was she doing! Uhhh!! This was all so frustrating.
