She did not make a habit of injuring herself for the benefit of a stranger, in fact she wasn't really sure why she had done so to save this loner. She knew nothing of him, his name, where he came from, was he a part of one of the packs? Had the tide merely washed away the scent? Or was he a rogue? A cold blooded killed that would no sooner end her life as soon as he was strong enough to do so? She sighed almost silently to herself, she supposed it mattered little what his intentions were, she never could leave a creature to die, no matter how foul, that didn't mean she would stick around, but she would at least see to it that he was well enough to fend for himself.

He remained absolutely silent. Not a flicker of a sound escaped his maw. She had heard him speak the night before, she knew he could, but perhaps he merely thought not too, this venture would prove a great deal more difficult. Her mind whirled with what to do first, he would still be too weak to hunt or to be left alone, but should she attempt to procure something else for him to eat or help him find water first. She could smell the fresh flowing waters of a stream not too far, perhaps if she could help him there, he could drink at his own leisure while she hunted for food? That could work, but how to tell him as such? If he did not speak to agree or deny her plan... what use were words? She sighed softly, ears flickering backwards as she thought of how best to approach this. Luckily... she wouldn't have too. He cleared his throat and her audits swung forward, listening for whatever he might tell her.

"Diabolito... it tis a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She relaxed considerably as he voiced to her his name. Perhaps this would not be so painful after all. He dipped his cranium to her and she smiled. She had not anticipated being thanked, hell she hadn't expected him to speak, much less do so respectfully. That was unexpected. Not unpleasant but unexpected. She had asked him what he remembered mainly to test his motor skills and his memory. Did he have lasting nerve damage, or perhaps memory loss? But it seemed he was remembering everything quite well.

He spoke of a ship and a storm, and her ears swung backwards, her teeth gently gnawing on her lip, she, herself had never encountered a human but knew damn good and well that no pack of wolves could commandeer a ship. Evelette had been patrolling these sands for weeks. Not a foreign scent had graced her sensitive nose and not a two legged walker had been seen. If he was from a pack of these humans, he would not find them here. Guilt and sadness gnawed away at her like a starving rat, she knew it was not her fault nor was it his, but she felt bad for him, his entire earth was about to be turned upside down and there was nothing she could do about it. Before she could move to speak, he continued, wanting to find his lost companions. He rose to stand and crashed back down to the earth, at least he could move all four of his limbs.

"Relax... you have not had fresh food or drink in several days, it will take you some time to regain your strength, you are lucky to be alive and in one piece." She sighed, wondering how best to tell him where he was, she hated to be the bringer of any negative news, but she needed to be here lest he wander forever searching for companions he would likely never find.

"This land is called Alacritis. It tis dominated mainly by wolves. There are no humans that inhabit this island, nor have I scented one as of late and I have been wandering these beaches for quite some time. It tis possible that your companions are here but it tis unlikely." Could he hunt? Did he know how to survive without a human hand? So many questions, so many thoughts but for now she would still them. Allow her words to sink into his skull. She shook her head, it was not her job to delegate his actions and she rose, shaking the dust and debris from her coat.

"Regardless of whether or not you intend to track them, you need your strength, there is a stream not far from here, if you lean upon me, do you think you could make the walk?"
