Come now and follow me down
puppy things
Shoal was lounging happily in the tall grass. He had no frame of reference for a time before the sky had been red so he just thought it was normal still, but the red didn't seem to stop the heat of the summer sun, and dimmer or not it didn't stop the sun's light either. He'd found that one of his eyes seemed to hurt if he stayed too long in bright places so finding a place in the long grasses to hide in relative shade was a relief. He had rolled onto his back, fore paws tucked to his chest and eyes closed. It was almost a nap. In fact it probably would have been if it weren't for the approach of a clumsy puppy.
The rattling of dried grasses made Shoal roll onto his stomach, peering into the thick vegetation. A familiar scent drifted towards him on the wind and he grinned. Kaira. Keeping low and moving carefully, watching his paws and the way the grasses moved as he did as he tried to sneak towards his sister. Eager to see how long he could follow her without her knowing.
