Two Hearts Beating As One

Summer was proving to be extremely hot this year and, along with the blood red sky and strange happenings around the continent, Enki had decided that he and Tazzy needed a little… escape. There was something that the tall pink man had been working on secretly for several months and it was finally time to take his boyfriend out to a special area he had made just for him. A full moon lights the sky and, while the blood hue seems to follow even into the nighttime, it does little to dampen his spirit tonight.

With the small colorful wolf secured between his shoulders, Enki moves out to the emerald plains where his promised surprise awaits them. Thankfully, it doesn’t take his long legs too long to traverse the distance and, when he gets close, he stops and helps Tazzy dismount from his back. Running his nose against the grain of the smaller man’s fur that takes up the space between his ears, he softly says, “Okay, we’re almost there. I… hope you like it.” A warm smile curls the edges of his lips and he leads the way forward.

Tazzy can see part of the surprise long before they actually arrive as the bright purple buds are hard to miss in the silvery moonlight. Enki had carefully planted and cultivate indigo, lavender, and purple lupines which have flourished even in these drought conditions due to his diligence. With a grin, he leads the shorter man through a small opening he had left in the flowers to a small inner sanctuary where a huge fur is spread across the dry grass. Platters of food have been carefully arranged, from sweet berries and jams to steaming meats and fragrant vegetables.

Wherever a plate of food isn’t taking up room on the fur, there are purple flowers that look similar to roses (lisianthus) and Enki sheepishly says, “I know you love the color purple and well, I wanted to make you something special. It’s your own little paradise!” A huge grin splits his maw and his tail slowly begins to wag behind him as he gazes lovingly down at the smaller man, happiness rolling off him in waves. After all, the scene has to be perfect for what he has planned for later.
