Citadel let out a startled yelp of surprise and awe when blood manifested as if by magic in a torrent from his opponents eyes. That was a thing? How was that a thing! He almost let the shock of it disrupt him, but the familiar motions of the fight and his training kicked in. He covered the distance between them, lowering his head and doing his best to catch the whip on his crystal nubs to catch the brunt of the lick of it.

Then he was there, and his teeth were digging into the other wolf's shoulder. He could feel blood dripping down his forehead and knew he hadn’t fully succeeded in avoiding the whip. He felt exhilarated and alive.
