He didn't particularly like this place, and in fact, he found Auster's Boneyard much more comforting. Perhaps that was strange, but there was something concrete and familiar about those hulking skeletons. Those creatures had lived a good life before they passed - at least, that's what he liked to think. Katsu was often anxious but he tried to be an optimist.

But Boreas' equivalent was desolate. Without a past, just the excruciating focus on the current bloodshed. He could hear in the distance a larger gathering, the sound of howls coming and going, and saw a steady flow of traffic. Was it a pack challenge? Katsu watched for a moment before turning his attention back to the quieter, open spaces of the Battlefield. This was merely a stopping point to hone his skills before he headed further north to explore whatever the latest tremors had unearthed. He'd heard there was something afoot and he intended to see it so he could accurately report back to his father. Accompanying him was his newfound companion, rescued from the cave ins nearby the Shimmering Shore. The emerald green bird was a noisy one, and he still wasn't quite sure what to call him... but he made good company. The pheasant let out an explosive squawk and Katsu pinned his ears at the sudden, cutting noise before turning to scan his surroundings and call out for a challenger. His intentions were clear: a casual spar. Something he could accomplish quickly before returning to his travels.
