I Took The Road Less Traveled

As Haydée approaches Eltrys, having just come from their shared den behind the falls, she cannot help with smile brightly. For the first time in her life, things just feel… right. Of course, he is working, large paws carefully tending to a piece of leather with his basket of tools not too far away. The chill in the air is staved off by a fire that crackles happily near him and she is quick to join the earthen man, humming happily as she says, “Much better.” He kisses her paw and she blushes deeply, giggling madly like a schoolgirl as she moves to seat herself right up against his side.

As he places the warm cup of cider in her paw she sighs appreciatively and gently begins to blow on the steaming liquid to help cool to more palatable temperature. Small form leans into his as she curiously eyes his creation, asking, “Whatca making El?” Emerald eyes scan his handy work, admiring the craftsmanship while paying attention to what he has to tell her. The questions she has about Druids can wait because, right now, she just wants to be in the moment with her El, enjoying this cold winter day.

Taking a sip of the apple cider, she feels the warmth slowly travel down her throat until it hits her stomach where it blooms into a wonderful flower that warms her entire body. Another, happy sigh passes her lips as she sits with Eltrys.
