His admittance of her intrigue had her insides fluffing with pride. Oh, how badly she wanted to give him sass. Of course I intrigue you, darling Patriarch. I intrigue everyone. Her stare matches his, those secret pleas and momentary glances flicking between them as they sized each other up. It was no secret why the Elders chose him to be the Patriarch. Merely laying here with him, only a few feet away, she could tell he commanded presence, demanded to be listened to, to bend the will of others. Unfortunately for both of them, she would not be so easily bent.

Giving him a wink as a response, she shifts her weight once more to be more comfortable, better seated for their shift in conversation. He wished, no, he demanded her truth. Were the Elder's words not good enough? Did he require her to say it aloud? So that she admit she was beneath him figuratively and if she were to guess, physically as well. Too bad he was already betrothed. Eudora was many things, but home wrecker she was not, but it didn't mean she couldn't have fun.

"The end? There will be no end, my dear Patriarch," her brow arches in response as she speaks fluidly. Dancing around the subject, no direct answer, but also so very direct. Read between the lines, love. "I came to fulfill my duty as a female Dunamis. Birth pups, follow my orders, and serve to the best of my abilities. Is it what I want?" Eudora thinks for a moment, her heterochromatic gaze drifting up toward the canopy of the willows, thoughtful and considerate. "Hm, that is a difficult question to answer. As a Dunamis, I was tested, as we all are to see where we best fit. I am cunning, smart, and efficient. They deemed me worthy of a Patriarch's Advisor and thus, that is what I wish for in the end. To stand by your side and advise you until we all crumble into dust," there is an edge to her accented tone as she brings her gaze back down to Erebos.

Is that what she truly wanted? Always being second best? No, but to some, the Patriarch's advisor was an honor. No female could truly hold a higher rank unless they convinced the Elders to allow them as a Matriarch. Ha, in their dreams! Did she secretly want to step up? To lead? Of course. She was strong-willed, determined, stubborn. A force to be reckoned with. Eudora believed she could lead just as strongly as any male, but it wasn't her place in life. Nor was falling in love or being a damsel in distress, but did she still dream about it? Of course she did. Everyone loved romance, but it wasn't the plan laid out for her.
