Leaves were everywhere, stretching as far as the eye could see. It made sense, considering he was traipsing through a fucking forest, but still. Leaves, leaves, leaves. The only thing louder than the crunch of said leaves was the growling of the blue brutes stomach. He needed to eat something, someone, anything. There was very little that he wouldn't shove in his mouth at that point. When had he last eaten anyway?

Big paws carried Calibos through the woods, his nose working to see if anything was out and about and worth chasing down. The first scent to hit his nose was wolf and the brutes stomach growled again, but it was a male, which was disappointing. Hey, even cannibals had standards, okay? Cal would bed both males and females, but he would only consume the flesh of the fae. They were more tender; their blood sweeter.

The next scent to meet his nose was that of a fox and, as it on cue, he could hear to crunching of leaves as something chased something else in hot pursuit. Interesting! Calibos settled into an easy lope, maneuvering through the forest towards the sound. Ears shifted as he gauged the location of the predator and prey. Soon, he caught a flash of orange fur and a flash of some big, earthen bastard chasing it. Delightful!

With a grin, Calibos invited himself to the hunt. He could eat a fox, sure. It was surprising that anyone else would want to eat a fox though. Generally, it seemed that predators avoided eating other predators. Not Cal though. What better testament to ones own prowess than to eat another hunter? He'd absorb all of that predators energy into himself and he would be better for it. Bigger. Stronger. Faster. More cunning.

Keeping the pursuing wolf to his left, Calibos kept his eyes peeled for the flashing russet fur. It was difficult to keep full track when the leaves were of a similar shade and they were everywhere. He tried his best to tread lightly, timing his steps to those of the other big brute. Perhaps this way the fox wouldn't hear him coming. Hell, he didn't even know if the other wolf knew he was here and ready to help.

Birds wailed up above, their attention honed in on the ongoing pursuit. Their raucous cries aided in covering the crunching of the leaves. When able, Cal would leap upon fallen logs and move across those instead to further mask his steps. There were mossy patches as well that he utilized. Was he getting closer? Who knew? What he did know was that he was damned hungry and he couldn't wait to feel warm meat and blood slide down his throat and into his awaiting belly.
