The boy woke in quite the manner that Oxx expected, blustering and defensive. A deep chuckle worked its way up from the giant's chest and he grinned, serrated teeth flashing in an otherwise shadowy face. Who was he? "Mmm, well who can say?" Another chuckle of amusement was released as Oxx padded around the clearing, his void-black form disappearing behind each shadowy tree. "Surely I'm someone." More circling. "Or else how would I be granted such delectable company?" Was he going to eat the boy? Consume him? Time would tell. When circling became boring, Oxx moved out into the clearing, the light of a mist shrouded moon shining down upon the clearing like a spotlight. "Once upon a time, I was the river spirit Tiberius. I was called David here and there. But my first name? My given name? Oxx Carpathius." a name given by a mother long dead. A wraith that he caught glimpses of periodically. He tried to steer well clear of her, but he knew she was around. "The more important question is... Who are you?" The closer he came to the boy, the more he seemed to grow in size until the slate and white predator was leaning over him, eyes blazing and teeth whiter than they had any reason to be. There was pure mania in the goliath's gaze as he looked down upon the red boy as though he was either some great prize or a tasty meal. "Speech" |
