wake

Wake lounges, comfortable on the ground beside the girl. She seemed hung up on the idea of magic, but curative properties and things of that ilk often felt like magic to him. There's not a lot of reason to consider the why, at least in his mind. No why no how just... doing what feels good. Doing what feels right. What seems to be helping, even if that's what left him hooked on laudanum in the first place. Oops.
"Magic and science aren't so different, you know?" Oh he's stoned stoned. Rummaging in his pockets for a snack, Wake is still keeping a decent eye on his patient. "It'll be a couple minutes while everything settles in, but you should be wanting to eat soon." He offers her a compressed bundle of sugar flavored with peppermint, something he'd traded for in the markets on his last trip. Once they learned how to grow and process sugar, though, maybe they'd be in business.
Her question is one that brings a little smile to Wake's lips, lounging comfortably. "Poppies, and the tincture made from them, have done a lot to keep down my chest pain over the years. I wasn't the healthiest child, and the seasonal change still does a number on me." A quiet admission. Though the boy doesn't like looking weak, she's asked the question with what seems to be the interest of a healer. "Mushrooms are fun, but unpredictable. Gotta be careful which ones, because some will kill outright. There are a few varieties that are just tasty, but the best ones? They'll make you see things like you wouldn't believe." He grins, rests back even further. "Different cannabis plants have different shapes, had some run-ins with some that made me paranoid as shit, I made sure to cull those from my patch." Was he proud of that? No, but at least he'd done science about it.
"The normal things, too, I guess. They're all boring and regular healer stuff, way more Sakana's strength than mine." Watching Finch's reactions with curiosity, head tilting as he considers. She's his patient now, even if he's the worst healer the Raiders have to offer. Surely he can't do too much damage.
