fairytale - hunt seasonal

Well wasn't this interesting? Another wolf, a big old thing, had joined in the hunt. It seemed as though everyone was on the lookout for a bit of fun. There wasn't much else to do in a place like this other than fight, fuck and sleep. Everyone came together to do one of those things, at least. It was so beautiful. Ha. Calibos moved through the leaf litter, his own nose low to the ground as he scented their prey. There was no point in sharing names between the three of them. He had no desire to make friends. They were just here for a common goal and, once that goal was complete, they would part ways. All three brutes followed the scent of the fox, winding their way through the woods. Just like before, Calibos used any opportunity to get his paws off of the ground. The fallen trees and thick, ropey vines made it easier than probably anywhere else in the land. He could hear the crunch of leaves coming from the big brutes behind him, but his attention was all for the land ahead. Suddenly, a flash of orange caught his attention and Calibos dove off of his perch and into a pile of leaves. Claws and teeth sank in and, for a moment, he thought that he'd won the day. The fox slipped from his grasp and rocketed out of the leaf pile. With a growl, Calibos gave chase once more, this time not caring whether or not he made any sound. Faster. Faster. Faster. He ran all out, jaws snapping at the end of the vulpine's tail. He swore that there was fox fur stuck in his teeth with as close as he was. The trio of wolves chased the little fox, closing in on all sides but one. That last one was the side that they should have closed. A moment later, a burrow appeared and the fox dipped within, disappearing as though he had never existed. The wolves skidded to a stop and Calibos growled low, irritation wrinkling his nose. Overhead the birds laughed at their failure. Without a word to the other two wolves, Cal slunk away to be alone and soothe his injured pride. WC-373 Total- 1583/1500 "Calibos Lir"
