As he lunged for her she sank to her belly with a halting motion and backpedaled beneath him with the agility of her dextrous paws, as they allowed her to stop on a dime. From just behind him she reached out in an attempt to snag his heel with her kitten claws so she could climb up onto his hip and sink her teeth in like an annoying leech.
