He dropped his shoulder, pushing against the motion to create space and keep Alaric’s forearms from fully locking around him.

Planting his paws firmly, Oath twisted his body and lashed out with his hind leg in a sweeping kick, aiming to catch Alaric off balance. His cyan eyes glinted with determination, his movements calculated but less refined than the seasoned warrior’s. “Fast start,” Oath commented, his tone even but edged with the thrill of the spar. “Let’s see how long I can keep up.”
