HELLO AND GOODBYE

Only earlier this evening had he heard of the encounter his adopted daughter had with his biological, the one who was so like her mother it was uncanny. The child had grown to be a clone of the wench, as power hungry and ruthless as ever, yet Seraphim had seen something else before their last meeting. He had seen a love in his daughter's eyes when she had been younger and he knew he was not mistaken. She was the child who wagged her tail when she saw him, the one who truly worked to mask any affection as her mother had instruction but still could not hide it all. That girl had to remain in there somewhere. No matter how hard a wolf tried to bury an unwanted side of itself, it would always resurface eventually. With his recent surge in emotions Seraphim could attest to that well. Ever the cold brute he had been before the birth of his children, certain he could care for little in the world. He had tucked away his love for his sister and his childlike playfulness for a stern personality that fractured at the perfect pressure. He had not sought her out, but he had found her nonetheless. The scent of kin wafted to his nostrils as her neared the falls and he stopped in his tracks. Though he did not see her, he knew she was here. Artemis, he barked in a tone that was stern, yet soft. It was the tone of a father, one who still cared enough to show it if only in a word. Speech Thought Others |
