He thought he'd been prepared for whatever Devya was going to throw at him, but as her words settled in and the reality hit him, it was nothing that he had expected to hear. Seraphim, he's?he's dead. Ares mother, Morphine challenged him to the death and he lost. Then Ares killed Morphine for killing his father. And then his sister Artemis came today and challenged Ares for his freedom. But then his brother, who I don't know, challenged me and tore my right ear. Seraphim...He remembered the ivory man whom he had appointed to be beta alongside Newt. He had been very understand, wise even...and now he was dead. His mind would immediately jump to the next familiar name; Artemis. He remembered meeting a young female, back when he'd been in Glaciem who went under the name Artemis. Was it the same girl? Something told him it was. Poor Devya...she'd lost her father and gotten attacked and hurt. The girl had been through hell and still managed to find her way to Taurig. He'd known there was a reason why he'd allowed her to apprentice under him. Me and Ares have been living on the island, we just came late. He has returned with me today, and is waiting for me in our den. Relief washed over the titan at her words. So she had been on the island with him, he just hadn't heard her around. He wasn't surprised, the island was pretty big after all. Devya, I'm so sorry all of this has happened to you, but you can count on being safe here on the island. As I said before, Ares is always welcome here. Anything you need, no matter what it is or when you need it, you can come to me. You hear? I'll be here for you for whatever you need. Salmon tongue would slither out from cavern like jaws, swiping across the girl's right ear, feeling the torn cartilage.
