YOU'RE GONNA GO FAR, KID

Her muscles had been aching for action, seeking the thrill of adrenaline. She?d denied them such a sweet hormone for so long, too caught up in healing to seek the thrill of a hunt. And yet today the matriarch had released her self-control, indulging her instincts and finding herself in the thrill of the chase. A hunt. Virgil Olympus was not the sort of woman to lay about being useless; no, she desired to be useful, and what better way to do that than to provide for the hungry mouths of her pack? Between her jaws was the throat of a young deer, one that had been walking with a limp, having been previously injured by some predator or another and achieved escape.
He made quick work for the woman, whose teeth remained embedded in its throat, her body laboring to carry it past Amenti borders. Muscles smoothly contracted, carrying her body towards the center of pack territory. Blood stained her muzzle and throat, none of it her own, the taste of it divine upon her tongue. When was the last time she?d been on such a hunt? Certainly not in quite a while. Knowing full well that she ought to summon the others to feats, she stepped back, head lifting towards the skies and letting a howl rip into the heavens. Perhaps the Alpha would come, or perhaps the woman would find herself meeting other members of her new pack.
After all, she?d kept herself rather isolated since joining, focused upon healing her leg and getting strong again. Virgil needed her strength if she wished to eventually challenge for a pack, and even though she shared a pack with others, she wasn?t sure if she trusted them. Trust could be a risky mistake to make with those who knew where you slept, those who were not family. Virgil was not a fool; until she learned the names of her pack mates, she would sleep with at least one eye open.
