Wandering about the territory, the young pup had decided to explore on his own a bit. He was flustered, it seemed the pack, asides from his mom, never payed attention to any of the pups. And so he would take it into his own paws to find something to do, and today he would walk around to see what would happen. It didn't take him long to reach the outskirts of the main pack land, his father nowhere to be found...as always. "probably off fighting someone again..." he muttered to himself, unaware of the new fox den that had moved in not too far away. He had seen a pattern. His father seemed like some kind of war lord, and recently Rin had seen a small group of unhappy strangers being herded into the territory. His father constantly gloated about the weakness of others, but Rin didn't understand why his father constantly threw himself into fight after fight, tearing packs and families apart. He had seen it time and time again.
Lost in thought, he didn't notice the approaching scent of fox. The creature preparing to sneak up for a surprise attack on his back. He had never scented it before, so it was unrecognizable. It wasn't until something cracked behind him that he stopped. His puppy fur rose, fluffing him up. What was that? Turning around, he gazed towards the bushes that hid something unseen. Curious, he moved a little closer, nosing the bush that held the unseen danger. Before he knew it, something had leaped out at him, a flash of orange fur with snarling teeth. He fell back on his haunches, eyes wide with fear as the beast lurched towards him with the intent to harm. With fear, he scrambled up and ran back just as the fox had lunged forward, teeth snapping in the air where he had been just seconds before. And then it gave chase. He ran for all he was worth, his panic rising. Nobody was around to help him. "Help!"
