Aranya mused over Chill's words. Was a bear really so dangerous? The could outmaneuver a bear, even outrun one. You could not outrun hypothermia or hunger or disease. It was the silent, quiet killers that got you. What an entertaining thought, and one that sent a chill down her spine. Death was always right around the corner, after all. Chill's assertions that she would protect Aranya gave her less reassurance than she would have liked, but it wasn't something she really wanted to think about just yet. Instead she padded on, on careful watch for a place to rest her weary body. The remnants of an old rock slide appealed to her, as two boulders and a shelf of stone had fallen just so to create a roof and a wind break.

Her tail lifted with happiness as she went to investigate, quickly and then cautiously, as nooks and crannies in the mountains were rarely unoccupied. There were scents of distant occupation, long forgotten, but they did not concern her now. The floor inside was barren of grass, just as it was barren of sunlight or water. The nook was perhaps two body lengths wide, one and a tail deep. Plenty of room, and between the two of them, probably warm enough for comfort. Aranya looked over her shoulder to Chill and asked, "How does this look to you?" Aranya wasn't sure what she would do if Chill disliked the place. It might even be a good excuse to split. Would Aranya do that? Should she? She wasn't sure.
