Wouldn't want her later? Well then he would be swimming home alone, wouldn't he? His callous comment only made his wife snort in response, continuing the short swim to the island. The sand felt good beneath her paws, it wasn't as hot as it would get during the summer, but it was a pleasant warmth in comparison to the somewhat chilly waters they had been in before. Teasing Gideon had fished a glare from him - although she couldn't help but feel that it was more a fuck you to the ocean than to her. She smiled regardless, leaning on him as he chuckled. She would stay, content beneath his stare, she loved the brute more than she got the chance to show him as of late. Hopefully he knew that himself. "I want to make sure it's big enough for Valhalla." There needed to be enough prey to comfortably feed nearly thirty wolves and counting. "And safe." So they would have to check for anything dangerous themselves - hopefully this would go over well and not turn into the two of them trying to survive. "We have a lot to do!" With that she would carry herself forward, and continue into the trees that lie ahead of the beach.
It was truly a jungle something that the mainland didn't have too much of. The air was slightly humid, but the trees and their vines nearly blocked out the sun in some places further in. She didn't recognize some of the plants, and she wondered how Erani would feel about that. Preston though, might feel a bit more at home - her brother had spoken of being used to different flora after his time away from the mainland himself. The woman would try her hand at tracking some prey - maybe she could get a good idea of how many huntable animals were on the island... and whether other predators had decided to live here and take advantage of the isolation and easy hunting as she wanted to.
"And to think a place like this is floating over the ocean." She would smile slightly, staring up and ahead. Monkeys hooted above their heads, a few small ones that probably had a few families living on different parts of the island. They would need a water source - any rainwater that had collected here would do. The jungle was unlike the Valhallan plains that she was used to - the cool shadows were comfortable though, and the uniqueness struck the alpha as beautiful, but left her wondering just how much territory was ahead. The woman would look back at Gideon, wondering whether he liked it so far even though they hadn't run into a landmark - and nearly ran into a cluster of vines on her blindside. "The reef was easy enough to swim, and the jungle is a welcome change... but do you think a move will do the pack good?" She was curious of his opinion. Although really, she doubted he was too worried with where the pack was, and more about the pack itself.
