She reached the stressed creature in a short amount of time, and with little hesitation began to work at removing the black mesh from it's body. It was whistling and chirping in what she expected to be a whole lot of pain, for she could see that up close the wounds were much worse than they had previously seemed.
Natana was so busy biting at the mesh with her teeth that she hardly noticed the arrival of a female lupine shortly after her own. Sapphire eyes widened when she turned her head with a momentary start. "What is it?" The woman asked her. She could see that the girl was a member of the marked nomad healers, like herself. Half trained in the art of healing, by the looks of it. With a curt nod of acknowledgement, Natana turned back to her work, pitying the poor beast who had been cursed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"It is some type of whale, a creature of the sea who lives underwater but requires air to breathe. A strange thing..." She trailed off while she bit through the last thick cord wrapping its body. "...that must constantly stay hydrated with sea water as long as it is beached on land." She turned back to the female and passed a large wad of moss from her pack. "SOak this in sea water and dab it on it's skin? Then I'll show you the best poultice to use for these wounds."
The ebony dame turned back to her pack, assuming the young healer would follow her orders and that she would be eager to learn. Natana did not care much for pleasantries when there was a job to be done. It felt good to be using the skills she was born with gain, even if it was to aid the health of what could be a great feast for a small pack of wolves. If I had still been with a pack...
She shrugged, a soft smile growing on her features. Obviously, she was much more needed here on the outskirts.
