Where am I going?

He noticed the way that she was looking at him and so decided he would do his best to continue to impress her, the first guilty thought coming to his mind. He quickly suppressed it thought, again forcing his mind to hold off on that for now. As she continued to eye him over, he settled himself on his rump, a pleasant and confident grin positioning itself on his face as he perched his head above his broad shoulders. He made no discretion to hide his eyes passing over her body themselves just once before again settled on her own blue orbs. He liked this female. That much was certain. He had now made up his mind that he would now definitely court this woman. But her next words threw him for a little bit of a loop. He was a loner, and not too keen on joining anyone's pack. Especially now that he was such good friends with Erani and some of the other Valhalla wolves. Newol was always afraid of joining a pack. One of the advantages of being a Loner was that you got to know wolves for who they where. The creature underneath the rank and title. However, he feared that in a pack he would get lost in all of the ranks and titles and lose that. Still, he would try none the less. "Thank you for the kind offer, Elsa. But I am content where I am. However, I do thoroughly enjoy the company." And then, finally, she inquired about his song. This caused his pulse to speed up just a tad as he pandered over how he might be able to use this moment to charm the woman's heart a little more. With a smooth and soft voice, he uttered some more of the words of the song. "And I wonder. When I sing along with you. If everything could ever feel this real Forever. If anything could ever be this good again. The only thing I'd ever ask of you, You've got to promise not to stop when I say when. She Sang." When he was done, he lowered his gaze to his paws. He was old enough by now to play this game, but he wasn't experienced with it. Going by instinct as he tried to make nothing but positive marks with this woman before him. Finally, he opened his maw to explain. His voice soft and gentle. "It's a song I learned in the wilderness, a pretty handful of loners know it." Finally, he brought his green eyes back up to meet her's, "It's about a fleeting moment in time that can't make up it's mind if it wants to last, of if it's just a once in a lifetime thing, where two Souls harmonized together beautifully." He knew why the song applied so well. Being a loner was a nothing for granted lifestyle. You couldn't be for certain if the person beside you at that moment was someone you'd ever see again. But this female before him. He wanted to see her again. He wanted to know more about her. She fascinated him. |
