Walk | Talk | Think
The pups trailed behind, Tahlia choosing to take the lead and keeping it though she knew from their previous visit that the children would have been more than happy to take point. Any other visit, she would have allowed it, just as she had before, but this was no ordinary visit. It was no visit at all. It was a move. Seracia was no longer their home, though it had long ago failed to feel as if it was to the proud woman. She and her children were homeless now, left to the mercy of the wilderness. It was what she had been trying to avoid all along, and she had failed.
The single thought that continued to plague her mind as she traveled the familiar path was of her mate. What would he think, what would he say, when she told him of her failure to keep their children safe within the structure of a pack? Would he be angry? Disappointed? Delighted?
She could hear the river, and the sound of it caused her anxiety to rise. She cast a quick glance behind, ensuring the children were behaving themselves, and continued onward, seeking out the location along the river where her husband resided, and where likely their entire family would be staying. Lifting her muzzle she howled softly to let him know they approached, a touch of urgency, of importance, evident in her tone. Why hide the significance of their being here? She was already of a mind that the sooner she told him the better she would feel, regardless of what his answer and his reaction would be.
