There was little that the pup knew - but for the first time ever something was different. Although he could not hear or see, he could feel that there was a shift in movement, and instinctively he would embrace it, moving with the bodies that he shared his abode, pushing forward to greet what was waiting for him. He wasn't aware of who was first or last, or that later in life it might just matter, but there was a comforting presence out there that he knew would serve as his guardian, the tiny beast would be soothed feeling his mother's touch for the first time - and release a tiny appreciative squeak. And as soon as he was placed with his kin he would know the presence of family - and relish in it the best as a newborn could. The first taste of milk would quiet the babe, and he would be content to fill his stomach for the first time.
