Weeks had passed since she had given birth to three little bundles of joy. She never went far from them when she was allowed to leave the den. Nothing but food and water would take the protective mother away from her pups. Even then Gitan and Atlas were always there to help as best she could. She remained healthy and so did the pups. Her pups were growing so fast, one moment they relied on her for everything and now they were growing more curious of what was outside the den. She didn't want them out there, wasn't ready to show the world her little loves. She wasn't ready for them to face the many challenges set before they're live. But she couldn't keep them in here forever. She was itching just as bad to be outside for long periods of time. Her legs would twitch with the need to run and hunt, eyes dreamed to see the sky more. So with mixed feelings she knew it would be today.
She rolled onto her belly, staring fondly down at her little pups. Gently her muzzle would nuzzle each one on the head before she lifted herself to her paws."Come Dears, it is time.." She whispered softly to them. As she left the den she became alert, each muscle tensed as she slowly emerged. She listened and looked for danger, nose twitching in the soft warm breeze. Once satisfied it was safe she looked back at her pups at the entrance of the den."Come loves, it is safe." She said softly. No one was here yet so she threw her head back calling for Gitan and her family. Even though she had invited her family to come meet the pups she could not help the surging rage of protection she felt over her little bundles. They meant everything to her, she'd die to keep them safe.
