For a long moment, he was frozen. He wondered suddenly, panicked, if she had left because she didn't like him, not because she didn't like living in a pack. What if she had been trying to get away from him this entire time, and he had been following her, desperate like a lovesick puppy? His ears briefly folded back against his skull, and he half-expected her to turn and run, away from him. But he had to try, needed to understand why she left, and why he cared so much about it.

She didn't even look excited to see him at first. He really wondered if he ought to leave, to say goodbye and apologize for searching for her like he had. Slowly she pushed herself upright, staring at him with confusion in her eyes. She approached him slowly, mirroring his own obvious hesitation. Her words were not harsh and yet her question seemed to pierce him. "I left Glaciem," he explained softly. "He doesn't know where I am, and he certainly doesn't care." His posture was stiff and he found himself wobbling slightly, though refrained from pressing into her for balance as he once would have. He was not concerned about Isardis looking for him. Last he heard, the King was not well, and certainly wouldn't exert his precious energy on finding a cripple boy. No -- he was not a boy, he had to keep telling himself this. He was a man and had to start acting like one. And yet he couldn't help but feel so young and weak as tears began to well up in his eyes. He'd always been so sensitive... he'd never be brave like his parents, his siblings. Like Kangi was.

She apologized for leaving and he wanted to embrace her so badly, but he still questioned if she would want that from him. She looked embarassed, and his expression softened as he watched her. "You don't need to be sorry," he began, voice quivering just as his limbs did as he kept himself upright. He had learned to be fluid on his three limbs, though would never be graceful... but it seemed the sudden flood of emotion that Kangi brought to him might topple him over entirely. "I don't blame you for not wanting to stay with me." From most wolves, his words might seem passive aggressive, but he was not trying to make her feel bad. It felt true to him, and he didn't know how else to explain any of this. "I missed you, though..."
