dreams of tomorrow

This was probably the most awkward reunion they had ever had and she could feel it, feel the tightening around her heart and in her throat. She was used to the tightening in her throat, it usually came with the tears that always came to her eyes when she saw him. But this time she didn't want to cry, she didn't deserve to cry when it was her who had hurt him. That much was evident in his features as he folded his ears and began to tremble. Every finer of her being wanted to reach out and touch him even, embrace him if he would let her but he did not close the distance either and she didn't want to push him too far in fear of him leaving her. She couldn't blame him if he wanted to leave her, she was even disappointed in herself. But at his words she dared to look at him, searching for some sort of lie in his eyes. He had left Glaciem? But what about his friend who had greeted them at the boarder who he had seemed to be so fond of? Even though Kangi knew she had absolutely no right to be jealous of the woman after all she had done she couldn't help but feel the little green monster rear it's ugly head once more. They had seemed so happy together, so at ease on their new pack even if the pale ruler had seemed to have a special hatred of Talon.
"Why did you leave? What about your friend there?" She had to ask, a bit of hope in her tones as she spoke. Did that mean he was a rouge now? Or had he joined another pack already? He had always said the life of a rouge didn't suit him so why now? And yet despite all these questions she couldn't bring herself to voice a single one, couldn't doubt him or question him because well hell, somehow he had found her. In the middle of nowhere on a beach surrounded by cliffs he had found her. But then again, was it a fluke, some chance that they had met and now he regretted it? It wasn't like her to doubt herself or him but here he was with all kinds of uncertainties pinging around in her skull. He was starting to shake and she so desperately wanted to reach out and touch him, to comfort him but she didn't know why he was shaking. Was it because he was mad at her, because he wanted to leave that badly? What if she reached out to touch him and he recoiled from her? But then he spoke again and his words made her freeze.
'You don't meet to be sorry, I don't blame you for not wanting to stay with me.' It hit her like a strike to the head and suddenly she felt like a pup again, before she had completely learned English and when she was fishing to find the words but nothing felt right. She knew he wasn't trying to guilt her, Talon didn't work like that, and that this was how he honestly felt. He thought she had left because she didn't want to be with her? So many words came to mind that she couldn't sort them and she was left gasping, jaw working but no sound coming out like a fish out of water. It wasn't until he spoke again that she was finally able to collect herself. He had missed her. And just like that it felt like everything fell into place and long legs stepped forward to close the distance between them. She slid her neck around his, giving him support and tightening to the point where she might have squeeze too hard but she really didn't want to let go. He had missed her, that was all that mattered.
He was shaking still and she wanted him to stop, wanted him to know that none of this was his fault, that none of this was because of him. But she could only feel that tightening in her throat and chest that usually came when she saw Talon after a long time apart and for a time she struggled to find words to express how she felt. "I don't care why you left, I'm just glad that your here..." she was finally able to murmur, nuzzling deeply into his neck. "I didn't leave because of you, it was because of your king. He was mean and cruel and rude to you and I didn't want to do anything to get you in trouble. I mean you had your friend there and you seemed happy... Ish... I just thought it would be better if I wasn't there... I just wanted to break his stupid face..." She grumbled the last sentence then she had originally intended to.
Speech!
