Against these welcome dreams

His gaze would peer at her as though she had suddenly transformed, not the wolf she was only seconds ago. He would observe her slowly, his closeness and curiosity welling up within him to release a good natured smile. She would peer at him, as her own features held a tired smile. She would do her best to keep the heartache within, she wouldn't show this stranger and she couldn't show her children. She had to be strong for them, she had to hold out while their family dealt with the loss of a father and husband. The man before her would return her to the present his words of apology and reasoning. He had first seen her as a figment, a vision. Could the gods be playing tricks upon his eyes? Why had they brought him before her now, to stand and ask of her home. He was called Fenris, and as he spoke the weariness he had so previously held would dissipate. She would feel her own guard return involuntarily, but she would not flee from him yet. "Good day Fenris, indeed, I am the oracle and alphess of the pack Ludicael. We are a scholarly pack so if it is knowledge you seek you will certainly find it there." her answers would be kept relatively vague until she knew exactly what it was he would seek. She still felt a bit of unease around him, and would not wish to divulge information she would regret giving later.?
