OOC: Shay was in Whisperer's Ravine when he was injured but made his way to the Valhalla border at the Gorge, and is just sitting there hanging out when Vahva came in, rather than in the crevasse where he was injured. It's not really all that important to the post but I just thought I'd make it clearer. Also, sorry that Shay's not really good at small talk so he isn't being incredibly responsive. lol.

Shay tracked movement with his one working eye, the form of a Valhallan wolf quickly coming into full view. Interesting coloring... he was curious if it was natural or dyed that color with berries or something. He'd ask, but it seemed more urgent that he not bleed to death. "Hello," he stated as she came within hearing. He'd been debating for some time what method of greeting might be implied by this situation, but deciding that he simply did not have the requisite knowledge he'd gone with what he understood to be a fairly universal greeting. The wolf immediately began sniffing at his wounds before asking permission to touch him. "Oh, of course," he nodded, accidentally splashing blood on her as he did. Before he could decide if an apology would be appropriate for the occasion she was speaking again to warn him that she would be relocating his shoulder and that it would hurt.

"I understand," he assured her, watching as she moved off to find what she needed. She returned, laden with cobwebs, to press them against his face. He lowered his head for her obligingly, then watched turned his head as best he could to watch with his good eye as she placed her paws on his injured foreleg. She instructed him to just breathe, and he nodded as best as he could with his head in that odd position. "Yes, of course. I can do th - " His words cut off with a slightly surprised "Mmmph!" as the bone clicked back into place with a momentary overwhelming pain from the movement of the broken bones in the bottom portion of that leg, and the sudden relief as the shoulder was moved back into alignment. He barely twitched at all through it all. As she backed away to find more of whatever it was she needed, he swung the leg experimentally, nodding to himself as he discovered the return of his range of motion.

The blue-tinted wolf returned and began splinting his broken bones using bark and sticks. Shay watched the process with a great deal of interest, despite the crick he was putting in his neck to see with his good eye. She finished, and Shay moved his head to a more normal position so she could check his eye. Whatever she saw must have been good enough, because she asked him to lean against her to move back to her den. He bobbed his head. "Certainly," he agreed, making his mouth stretch into the grin he felt would be appropriate for that moment, an expression that never reached his habitually blank silver-blue eyes... well, eye, and one side of his muzzle would no longer respond when he made the attempt, so it was rather lopsided as well.

He moved to lean against her as she had asked, though he simply tucked his injured leg up to his chest and otherwise ignored the various aches and pains of his battered body. "So are earthquakes a normal occurrence in these lands?" he inquired in his usual quick nearly-monotone manner, as though the words were tripping out so hastily they had no time for any lilt to work its way in.
