Talon had always been rather childish, despite how many things he had gone through so far in his life. He had been rather meek since birth, never one to push outside of his boundaries, and certainly not one to seek company other than himself. He was painfully shy at times, though certainly craved the companionship of others. But as he stood here, before Kangi, admitting his love to her, he suddenly felt more like a pup than ever. He swore he felt blood rush to his face, warming his skin and forcing his heart to be at an alarming rate. He wanted so badly to push back against her, to feel her head against his chest and listen for the sound of her own heartbeat, but he wanted her to hear the words he spoke and know they were true. Silver eyes shone with hope and adoration as he gazed upon her face, so much prettier than any girl he had ever met before. At first, he didn't know what she felt when he admitted he loved her. Talon swore he saw a glimmer of surprise in her eyes, but it quickly ebbed away into nothing but warmth. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and only grew when she batted him playfully with her paw. "I know, too," he said surely. He had been afraid to admit it, and had felt nervous at what her response might be. But it was better than he could've ever anticipated. A happy sigh left his lips and he leaned forward to shower her muzzle in kisses. "I love you, I love you, I love you!" he exclaimed in a soft voice, unable to keep a wide smile from his face. He meant it with all his heart, and he didn't ever want to leave her again for as long as he lived. |
