Cold Season

The black female walked through the landscape, tail swishing from side-to-side, emerald eyes scanning the area for any signs of intruders, or someone she could perhaps talk to. The leaves began to change as the temperature began to drop significantly. The ebony she-wolf would shiver slightly from the cold as the winter season wasn't that far away either. Her paws dug into the foliage as her paws left imprints on the earth. The grass began to bend downward as she walked through it. She had been alone for a while. It had been a while since she had come back to her new home, but, sometimes males would not take kindly to her, and very rarely would she ever see someone here speak to her. Isardis was someone whom liked her hear, but she sometimes wondered if he wished for her to join because she was a tool for him to make stuff with, like pups for instance.
"It sure is cold," she spoke to herself, shaking the snow that began to fall in large flakes off of her pelt. Her eyes stayed focused as she looked before her, sometimes stopping and erecting her ears to make sure nothing was following her, or wanting to do anything with her. Her tail twitched slightly once more, continuing onward she walked to a rock den and lied down. It also had been a while since she had been with her entire pack. The only time she had seen them all was at a meeting, but she had not been to another one for a long time.
Esperanza plopped down onto the stone floor and listened to the birds whom began to fly south. She huffed slightly as a small amount of mist escaped from her mouth and into the atmosphere. She shivered slightly in the cold continuously now, even though her coat was thick and ready for the winter ahead. She could smell the stench of elk, but she stayed where she was and waited for someone, or something to make their presence known. She placed her cranium down upon her front paws, watching the snow fall, and animals moving to try and hide in the cold.
