The dry lakebed stretched before Serra, an endless expanse of something that had once held water. The ground beneath her paws was dry and cracked, and obviously a little lacking in the whole water department, Serra noted dryly. The massive rocks littering the area were hardly noted by the wolfess, who surveyed her surroundings regally as she stood still, head held high. There was little distinctive about this area - and it wasn't the kind of place that she could imagine Quelt spending much time in, if at all. She hoped desperately that he was nearby, but Serra was almost certain that he wasn't. This was not the kind of place that any wolf would stay for long.

So why was she still here? To be honest, Serra couldn't totally say. It wasn't a particularly pleasant place, but she didn't mind. For the moment, Serra was content to stay put. Maybe in a bit she'd move on, since Quelt certainly wasn't in the area. Not that she blamed him. Serra couldn't imagine staying here for long.

And yet she was still settling down even as she thought this, wrapping her tail easily around her paws as she looked around once more. This was not the kind of place that Quelt would stay in, if he ever even visited it, and it was a far cry from any sort of place that she wanted to stay in for long, but the warm sun beating down on her back. The air was cooler than one might expect from a desert, but that was probably just due to the fact that it was autumn. Winter would arrive soon, and Serra hoped desperately that by then she would have at least found a rumor of her brother. He had to be out here somewhere, right?
