Her night with Alpine had been magical, unexpected and completely perfect. She couldn't imagine having spent it with any other wolf. The lingering effects of the bliss, as well as the shining shard, would be visible with the she wolf. An involuntary smile would float over her lips despite the fact that she was very much alone that afternoon. The lingering effects of such a perfect adventure playing out so precisely with her best friend. The night had grown late though, and eventually they had made to say goodbye. She had taken a nap between then and now, sure that Alpine had gone out by now. Possibly even to find the boy he had told her about the day before. Now though, she was alone again with not even Jinxx for company. The cross marked girl would slip out of her den lazily, the shake in her steps now completely gone. The hole in her heart would begin its long journey to being filled once again. She still had an immense journey to travel, but already she had come so far.?

Orchid optics would blink back the sunlight with white eyelashes, her maw opening in a wide yawn. The sun was right overhead, making the day almost hot during the autumn hours. Her form would stretch, first front legs would extend followed by the loosening in her hind legs. A subtle shake of her plush coat and she was as ready for the day as she could be. Her form would sashay to the water's edge, the gentle lake breeze would tousle her shaggy dual toned coat as she walked. Her liquid topaz stare would find the surface of the water. As she grazed her reflection from the corner of her eye her mind would conjure the image of Fern instead of her true image. A gasp would slip from marked lips as she stole a double take.?

All she saw was her own image, but the waves of hurt brought from such an illusion would bring her back to square one. Lowering her torso to the earth she would sigh sadly and let her gaze travel over the lake. It was going to be a long day.?
