Would things ever be as good as they had once been, he wondered? They'd been the children of the King and the Queen, and potentially could've inherited the entire kingdom. Everything had been happy then, and he couldn't help but wonder if things would ever return to such a pleasant state -- but he knew things had changed, whether he liked it or not.

Quintus was never one to show much outward affection to his siblings, but his gentle smile said it all. His expression was devoid of the normal haughty look he wore, and the warmth that shone in his sea-green eyes was genuine. "How have you been?" he asked, his deep voice ringing with a fair bit of uncertainty. What had changed here? The scent of the lands seemed off, and he wrinkled his nose as he let his gaze dance across the horizon. "And do you know where the rest of our family is? Cassius or Amalia? Fin and Caeto?"
