Disappointment settles into the pit of the banshee?s stomach as her russet adversary manages to lurch her skull away from ravenous jaws set to annihilate, though her foe is not fortuitous enough to escape her teeth absent injury. Gluttonous incisors indulge in the savory taste of blood as they tear through the tender flesh of Sibelle?s lower lip; and although it is a pitiful consolation for a potential broken jaw, it is a hindrance nonetheless that Artemis hopes will mar the woman?s pretty countenance forever. Unfortunately, the Elysius deity obtains no grip upon the russet pawn?s lower lip as the woman continues to pull away from her jaws, and as Sibelle successfully escapes her grasp, Artemis, too, lurches her skull to her own left while her adversary impulsively snaps at her face--though she is not quick enough in her movements and earns a shallow nick between leathery nostrils as Sibelle?s teeth glances off her nose. It is a wound that stings but does not deter the paladin from her vehement endeavor in the slightest; no--it would take much more than a miniscule cut to quell the beast stirring within her.
Despite the awkward placement of her assault, her jutting right shoulder does little to hinder the russet queen from her movements as it successfully strikes the woman?s left armpit area, though Artemis does not allow her failure to dissuade her from upsetting her opponent?s balance; she would simply have to try harder if she were to manage such a feat. As Sibelle elevates herself, shifting her weight upon her hinds, the phantom takes it upon herself to maneuver away from the woman, fully understanding that what goes up, must come back down. Thus, her hips swing out and to her left as she attempts to position herself at a forty-five degree angle from Sibelle?s right shoulder, hoping to move out of range from the brunt of her adversary?s assault. However, still she is not entirely quick enough to fully escape injury; as she pivots away, Sibelle?s weight is thrust forward into the front of her right shoulder, though with her movement away from the woman and the tight proximity between the duo, only a light bruise is left from where the woman?s chest impacts her right shoulder. Likewise, Sibelle?s attempt at draping her left forelimb around the paladin?s neck is futile with Artemis? movement, though the woman?s left forepaw does manage to land upon the outside of her right shoulder.
The Elysius wraith?s adversary is relentless--she will give her that. Abstract gaze views as the russet queen tilts her jaws to the side with the hopes of striking high, and based upon her opponent?s barbaric assaults thus far, Artemis can righteously assume that Sibelle wishes to use her tilted jaws to gouge out her mismatched eyes. With no intentions of leaving the arena blinded, the phantom begins her own attempted assault as the russet pawn?s jaws begin to snake towards her skull. With her hopeful position at a forty-five degree angle from Sibelle?s right shoulder, the paladin attempts to push forward, hoping to impact the woman?s right shoulder with the center portion of her upper chest. She intends to use the force of attempted, continuous momentum with the hopes that she might succeed in knocking Sibelle off of her hind feet and onto her left side, presuming that it might be easier to upset her foe?s balance by attempting to push into her from an angle rather than from head-on. Simultaneously, her own jaws and skull tilt slightly towards her [ art?s ] left, causing her russet adversary?s jaws to miss their intended target in favor of the area just above the Elysius? right brow. Moderate lacerations bloom in the wake of Sibelle?s teeth, festering with blood and extending from above her right brow to the center of her forehead ( wounds that will undoubtedly scar ), though no grip is obtained due to the thin quality of the flesh lining her skull. A guttural snarl rips free of slackened jaws as the paladin registers the pain, but it only encourages her to perform her next maneuver. As Sibelle?s jaws had aimed higher upon her head in pursuit of her eyes, Artemis can only assume that that has likely left her neck exposed--therefore, she attempts to mercilessly clamp down onto the upper portion of the russet queen?s right-sided neck with her jaws while still attempting to push forward, intending to obtain a lethal grip upon the woman?s neck and hoping also to pierce the tendons and veins located there, wanting to see the woman b l e e d.
During her attempted assault, defenses remain secured to the best of her ability: mismatched gaze narrowed, ears sewn against the contours of her pale crown, abdomen tensed, skull lowered, and tail streamlined with the remainder of her spinal column. Limbs are spread equidistant apart, each bent slightly at the joints to lower her center of gravity while her weight is pushed towards her front half during her hopeful push forward, toes splayed, and nails biting lightly into the weathered earth beneath her. Shoulders roll forward and her skull draws back slightly to encumber the front and sides of her neck in a protective layer of excess flesh and fat, hackles prickling along the base of her neck and spinal column, and chin tucked against the curvature of her neck. Slavering jaws fall slack and her lips unfurl to expose bloodied incisors--as prepared and ready as she could manage given the savage circumstances.

attacks after artemis' swings her hips to her left with the intentions of aligning herself at a forty-five degree angle from sibelle's right shoulder, artemis attempts to push forward with the center portion of her upper chest against sibelle's right shoulder, hoping to use continuous momentum to knock sibelle onto her left side. simultaneously, her skull tilts to her own left and she aims to use her jaws to clamp down onto the upper portion of sibelle's right-sided neck, intending to obtain a lethal grip and pierce the veins and tendons located within the neck.
