It was a sore sight, but curious as well. He liked to come here to think sometimes; he wasn?t a very philosophical wolf, but when he was alone it made him shift into that mood. The Wall in front of him was just a heap of dark stone, layering itself up for a few yards before finally growing into a full wall. The broken rock?s innards glimmered in the moonlight and the atmosphere seemed almost magical. Selyan pressed his paw to one of the cracked bricks and felt its freezing essence seeping into his leg.

What am I? Why am I?

His brow furrowed, golden eyes rising to scan the huge monument above him. The snow had stopped falling at dusk and there was a thin delicate layer of the white sprawled across the careening wall. Shaking the frost from his fluffy coat, the bright wolf took a step forward again, gingerly placing his paws on each broken stone at a time. The temperature made his eyes wet and his legs were a bit stiff from the chill, but he climbed the rocks slowly without purpose.
Under the wall he had felt small, but now, landing his front paw on the first piece of solid mass, he.. actually, he still felt small.

?Ascension means absolutely nothing,? He heard his voice and wasn?t surprised. Sel was existentially frustrated and could sense his eyes scanning the ground below him. It seemed to be about ten feet. His legs felt sturdy on the thick wall, but his mind was swaying. One foot an inch off of the edge- he grinned.
