Huh? What?

This was much farther than the girl had wandered before, preferring to stick close to home in general. In truth there was no explanation as for why she had come this way, it had simply happened. Hunger had begun to gnaw at her earlier in the day and as the scent of fish had struck her from a nearby cavern she had found it much too hard to resist. Still in the end it had been worth it, it seemed the cavern was backed onto the sea and as the tide had retreated from within the cave it had left behind some of it?s denizens. Easy pickings for the yearling.
With her stomach full the girl had settled higher up the cavern?s slope and found herself growing tired. Perhaps it was lucky the cavern was so dark, allowing her mostly black coat to blend with the shadows. It was some time later that she was awoken by shuffling?
Slowly the girl lifted her head, forest gaze scanning the shadows. It took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the dark but as she roved her gaze over to the entrance she could make out a lupine figure. For a moment she remained still, then she began to rise to her paws, remaining where she was and watching the unknown figure with narrowed eyes.
