The loud crashing of the waves against the shoreline was intoxicating to Lysis. The sound was far from melodic, and yet she found it pleasant to the ear, enthralling in all its intensity. Even the moon overhead seemed to take heed to the strength of the waves, illuminating the sea in all its glory. She could not help but wonder how it might feel to be able to swim in the sea for all eternity, never needing to touch land -- how freeing it would feel -- as free as a bird on the wind. The scent of the stranger came to her far before she heard the woman's voice. Slowly she tilted her head to the side, arching her neck as she gazed upon the ivory-furred beauty's face. Her words were strange, but elicited a coy smile from her, toying with her lips and quickly illuminating her tender face in a sickly sweet expression. "It seems I am looking at it right now," she commented with an air of playfulness as she gazed upon the stranger's face. "But in all honesty, you bear a much stronger resemblance to my father than anyone else..." |
