Embrace of Dawn

Regret. That is all she could see in beautiful eyes. She wished to rush into his arms, to have his unique scent billow about her and comfort her. She wanted to taste his sweet fur, to feel both their pelts mingle within each other. She wished to become one with him, like they had been the night before. It broke her heart to see him like that, and it was all her fault. She longed to bundle him in her arms and tell him that it would all be okay. "Dearest Crucifix, please no." She whispered, her eyes welling up. For the first time in a long time, Othello wept. Her tears were not from pain or from lose, they were from something very different. Her walls began to crumble down, as quickly as she put them up she tore them down. For him. Anything to take that look from his eyes. "I would never take back anything from last night Cru, please don't think that way." At once she pushed her body up, flinging herself closer to him. Their chests crushed together and she hung her neck around his shoulder. "I am not shutting you out because I don't... care for you. I'm doing it for your own sake." She pulled back then, her soft purple eyes wet with tears.
She knew that she needed to explain to him, she knew that she had to tell him. The last of her walls came down, and she sobbed. Leaning her cranium on his shoulder, she took in his heady scent, soaking his own fur with her salty tears. "No one has ever cared for me, I have been used and abused since my father gave me up. I uh... I struggle with my emotions, they run rampant. I don't want anyone to see how crazy I am, so I hide behind masks. You are the first person who I have been able to truly be myself around. And then in the daylight... I fear you leaving me. I don't know what will happen when you go, if I will ever feel this way again." She was too scared to pull back, too afraid to meet his eyes. She didn't want to know how he was going to feel about all of this. So she took in his scent for what was probably the last time, he would surly run after all that.
His sweet words were too kind, to nice for her. She didn't deserve them, not after how she made him feel. She would never regret what happened, for it was the best memory she had in this life time. So she just sat there, weeping into Crucifix's shoulder. He did ask her a question, saying he gave up his home. "I have been kicked out of every home I know. I wander the land aimlessly, searching for..." She broke of choking on her tears. For what? That even she did not know. "I don't wish you leave your side..." She whispered, not bothering to finish her other sentence. It didn't matter, she would probably never find what she was truly looking for.
