It had been a long journey, but not an unenjoyable one. Every moment she spent with her brother she could feel their bond growing stronger, something that was all too necessary if he was going to be her protector and partner in this new journey life had given her. He would turn to look back at her, his singular emerald eye finding her and she would smile. They were here. She came up beside him, her side brushing against his as she scanned the junk yard they had traveled to. She hopped this was the right place... After all of that walking it would be a shame if she couldn't find what she was looking for.

She padded forward, being careful to avoid the pieces of sharp glass that littered the ground. Athena spotted something sparkling in the early morning light and her tail wagged excitedly. There! She knew she had seen them here. She walked over to them and, after a few moments of careful digging and moving of other junk, she emerged with two golden bands. They were maybe two inches wide and it was obvious that at one point they had elegant etchings on their sides, though now it was worn down and less prominent. She set them aside, glad that she had found the treasures that she wanted for herself, but what she really wanted was something for Vereux, something to mark him as her trusted shield brother.

She continued rummaging around, glancing back over her shoulder only for a moment to make sure her brother was still where she left him. It took a little longer to find something suitable, but she was finally successful. She pulled it free, the gold links glittering gently in the light as she raised her head. A gold chain in the form of a circle. It was just what she was hoping for.

She gathered up the chain and her bracelets before trotting back over to Vereux, her gaze hopeful. After she had set the bracelets down she held up the prize she had brought back for her knight, lifting her head so that she could slip it over his. It was big enough to make a statement, but not so much that it would get in his way, and should he ever need to take it off to fight or hunt it would slide off without a problem. "What do you think, brother?" she would finally ask, looking back up to his gaze.
