They flock to the secondary arena like vultures to fresh carrion, gluttonous and prying in their mannerisms, and yet, the auspicious tyrant only swells with unadulterated satisfaction. Fiends that thrive upon chaos like she ( the carnage enthusiast ) crawl from the woodwork to observe as the bloodbath ensues, and the phantom is only fueled with prospective ideas of potential havoc as each of their presences grace her sidelines. A smirk subconsciously worms its way upon her porcelain countenance and any trepidation she had previously harbored begins to dissipate from her malevolent being as her cryptic gaze ravages the eager crowd, pupils falling first upon the dappled wraith that had assaulted her delicate sister within the Elysius? former domain at the command of a negligent pretender: an Arcanum militant. The phantom deity expects to earn this woman?s spite with her fledgling challenge upon the Arcanum throne, and yet, is pleasantly surprised to learn that the assailant possesses an open mind ( such a rare attribute indeed, especially during a challenge ). Confidence only flares within the paladin?s chest at the woman?s speech, though she refrains from verbally retorting and simply offers her the curt nod of her skull in acknowledgment before her gaze shifts with the approach of Novocaine, Nephele, and Cerberus--her ambitious and youthful half-siblings. Their supporting presences are a gift that only encourages the wraith to perform flawlessly ( for she fights partially in their stead ); and yet, her family?s presence also drives the faintest hint of anxiety into her core. Should she fail, they would be present to witness her humiliation, and Artemis could not help but worry that their faith in her ability to lead their family might dwindle as a result. ?Would you f o r s a k e me if I fall?

And with her challenge hails the opposition--a golden woman pursued by an army of indignant children and an imp, both offering her their spite in various ways. The golden woman, through a futile attempt to intimidate; and the imp, through venomous sentiments that would amuse rather than deter. The phantom scoffs at the imp?s insolence, frayed lips elongating into a grin that is hardly genuine, but one that is kissed instead by sheer malice. Through a test of scent, the Elysius deity deciphers that the imp is bound to Arcanum; and yet, she has the audacity to accuse her of foul play! This derives a wry chortle from the ravenous jaws of the wraith as she recalls Arcanum?s attack upon her siblings and how they had been so cruelly outnumbered; was this woman a hypocrite, or simply daft? ?Your queen hardly seems incapable of fighting to me,? the tyrant croons pointedly, gesturing towards the russet pawn with a nod, hoping to enlighten the imp that the stakes were fair. The imp, however, was relentless in her attempts to dissuade Artemis from her challenge, though she would find her attempts to be fruitless for the tyrant, too, was determined and unwilling to discard the opportunity to return to her crown. ?I have waited far too long for this,? she hisses, mismatched silver and violet gaze wavering from the imp?s form and onto that of her adversary?s as she rises to meet the challenge like a true queen.

...and yet, she is not.

** With keen eyes, the Elysius deity observes her opponent as she dutifully approaches--a madwoman on the warpath, motivated by the potential loss of her power; yes, this will be dangerous play indeed. The russet pawn wastes no words upon her and immediately begins her charge to battle; however, rather than set off in an attempt to meet her halfway, the phantom remains stagnant in preparation, pupils locked upon her adversary?s chest cavity in hopes of pinpointing potential movement. Defenses remain secured as Sibelle devours the slight distance between them with lengthy strides, ears sewn against the downward slope of her lowered skull and eyes narrowed to slits of mismatched silver and violet, abdomen tensed to tighten her core, and tail stretched in alignment with the remainder of her serpentine spine, ready to be utilized as a rudder to aide her movements should the situation warrant it. Limbs spread equidistant apart in preparation for the potential collision, each bent slightly at the joints to increase her agility as she allocates her weight evenly between all four, toes splaying from one another and nails grappling into the earth to retain a sense of balance and traction. Hackles bristle along the base of her neck and spinal column while her shoulders roll forward and her skull draws back slightly to safeguard her neck in a protective halo of excess flesh, murderous jaws falling slack with gluttony as she presses her mandible against the curvature of her neck. Velveteen lips peel back to unsheathe ravenous incisors in a feral snarl as the russet queen draws nearer and nearer, forcing adrenaline to run rampant through veins of steel in silent apprehension. ?Let the fields run R E D!

When it becomes clear to the phantom that Sibelle intends to overlap their right halves, Artemis sidesteps to her own right with the intentions of forcing Sibelle to remain directly in front of her; thus causing the russet woman?s right shoulder to impact the leftwards portion of her chest rather than the intended right. Moderate bruising blossoms upon her leftwards chest as a result of the impact, though the damage is diluted by the thick padding of the fur and muscle lining her broadened chest cavity and her left hind limb slides backward slightly to stop herself from being pushed too far back by Sibelle?s force. As her adversary?s jaws snake along the right side of her skull in pursuit of seizing the area behind her ear, Artemis seeks to utilize her shorter height to her own advantage by quickly turning her skull to her own right, attempting to perpendicularly ( or nearly so ) align her gaping jaws with Sibelle?s right-sided mandible [ lower jaw ] where ravenous jaws will attempt to mercilessly clamp down with the hopeful force to break or fracture the bone located there [ counter, pending damage from sib?s bite ], top jaw seeking to clamp over Sibelle?s tongue while her bottom jaw seeks to hook beneath the right side [ sib's right ] of the woman?s lower jaw. She wants to see her adversary writhe in pain, and if she must maim the woman to fulfill her sadistic desires, then so be it.

The russet pawn, however, does not end her assault there--her left forelimb leaving the safety of the earth in an attempt to wrap about the lower portion of Artemis? neck, but the phantom has no intentions of allowing her this opportunity. The wraith can only assume that her adversary?s balance is likely compromised upon three limbs as opposed to four, and therefore presumably easier to knock off-balance completely; thus, the paladin?s ultimate goal is to upset her opponent?s balance. Therefore, the Elysius deity attempts to shunt her dropped and jutting right shoulder blade into Sibelle?s left armpit area ( where the forelimb meets the chest ) as Sibelle lifts her left forelimb, hoping that the force of her potential blow might bruise the area to complicate movement and force Sibelle to abandon her attempt at wrapping the forelimb around her neck [ counter? ]. Defenses are maintained to the best of the wraith?s ability throughout the duration of her assault, unwilling to grant this woman a leeway for victory. No--if this pawn was going to defeat her, she would defeat her, battered and bloodied.

Artemis vs sibelle

one of four

attacks as sibelle's jaws snake around the right side of her head to grasp the area behind her ear, art turns her skull to her own right in an attempt to almost perpendicularly align her jaws with the right side of sibelle's mandible where art will attempt to clamp down with the hopeful force to break or fracture sibelle's lower jaw. attempting to shunt her right shoulder into sibelle's left armpit area as sibelle lifts her left forelimb, hoping to bruise the area with the potential force of the blow + upset sibelle's balance.

defenses ears pinned, skull lowered, eyes narrowed, abdomen tensed, tail aligned with spine, limbs spread evenly apart, limbs bent, weight evenly distributed, toes splayed, nails gripping, hackles raised, shoulders rolled, neck scrunched, jaws gaping, chin tucked, teeth exposed.

injuries moderate bruising upon leftwards chest, pending damage from sibelle's bite. sibelle's arm around art's neck really wouldn't do any damage but i guess that's pending too lol.
