Anthem Destruction had grown accustomed to the general peace offered by Ludicael. The pack was tight-knit, consisting mostly of his family members -- since the incident with Virgil, he had seen few new faces at the borders. And so the scent of unfamiliar wolves, wafting from the borders, was enough to spark his interest. Slowly he would redirect his aimless wandering toward the wolves that he did not know, a slow wag beginning in his tail. Though he was sometimes uncomfortable outside of his home, he knew this place well, and knew he was safe here. He could call to any of his family, and they would be there quickly if he ever needed them.

The man's gait was slow as he went, each step as lackadaisical as the last, with little purpose. He felt a nagging need to investigate, to see who had come to the borders, as he could already tell they were not wolves he knew as family. Slowly they came into view, and his gentle dandelion gaze grew bright and interested. Two children lingered near the borders, unfamiliar to him, but he would soon find out. A bark of greeting left his lips, sounding to them that he was a friend and nothing less, which his tail continued to wag wildly behind him.

He wondered why they did not have parents with them. Most children did. What made them different? A smile graced his features as he warily took a few steps closer, hesitation written plainly on his face. "Hi," he offered to them, keeping his distance, a nicety he sometimes struggled to remember.
