Although the phantom had intended to reposition herself at an angle from the russet pawn as the woman reared back onto her hinds [ refer to art?s previous post ], the Elysius is not as quick as she had hoped, and is disappointed to learn that her adversary has managed to rear back, ground herself, and pivot to directly face her in the same time frame that is has taken her [ art ] to pivot. Thus, her attempts at knocking Sibelle onto her left side are futile since the russet pawn has managed to overlap their right halves yet again; though still, the paladin attempts to push forward, the focus of her hopeful assault now centered within her own right shoulder as opposed to her chest. Sibelle, too, shunts her own right shoulder forward, aligning it again with the natural groove located between the right hemisphere of Artemis? chest and her right shoulder; but since their right halves are now overlapped, this, in turn, would likely align Artemis? right shoulder in the same area upon Sibelle. Therefore, as Sibelle?s right shoulder connects with its intended target between the right side of her chest and right shoulder, Artemis can only hope that her attempted push forward has landed her own right shoulder in the same natural groove located upon Sibelle with an equal amount of force. Due to the tight proximity between she and her russet adversary and the lack of gathered momentum, only a heavy bruise is left to bloom where Sibelle?s right shoulder connects upon her ( as opposed to a dislocated shoulder, which Artemis can only imagine would require the power of momentum )--though still, it is not enough damage to completely hinder her movements.
Slavering jaws connect lower upon her adversary than anticipated--incisors ripping through the flesh above Sibelle?s right shoulder as opposed to the upper right corner of her neck that had been targeted. She--macabre enthusiast--knows that this injury is not enough; there is not enough gore, and there is nothing worth maintaining her grip for----this will not make her adversary crumble. Thus, the phantom deity immediately relinquishes her hold upon the russet queen?s lower right-sided neck as she glimpses the menacing gleam of her adversary?s unyielding teeth searching for the flesh of her own neck. But no; the Elysius wraith cannot permit this. Pallid skull quickly rotates towards her own right and tilts back slightly to grant herself a view of her adversary?s snarling countenance, unhinged jaws yet again intending to align themselves at a forty-five degree angle from the right side [ sib?s right ] of the russet queen?s own gaping jaws. The Elysius intends to meet Sibelle?s bite with her own [ counter ] as she had attempted previously; though this time, she wanted to prevail. Jaws would attempt to brutalize and break the lower right-sided jaw of her adversary with a hopeful bite--top jaw seeking to clamp over Sibelle?s tongue while her own lower jaw would seek to hook underneath the woman?s right-sided mandible. She had failed before to break the russet pawn?s mandible, though she hoped now that her movements were quick enough to refuse Sibelle the opportunity to avoid her jaws at a final fleeting moment.
The Elysius, however, is still dissatisfied with her adversary?s lack of hindering injuries. Therefore, her own right forepaw seeks to leave the safety of the earth ( balance shifting between her three grounded limbs in the process ) before she attempts to ruthlessly slam it onto Sibelle?s own right forepaw, hoping to shatter her toes with the potential force of her hopeful blow. All the while, her defenses are secured to the best of the wraith?s ability: mismatched gaze narrowed, ears sewn against her crown, abdomen tensed and tightened, tail streamlined with the remainder of her spinal cord, skull lowered, chin tucked against the curvature of her neck, and hackles bristled. Limbs are spread evenly apart and bent slightly at the joints to lower her center of gravity, weight evenly distributed among her grounded limbs, toes splayed, and dulled nails grappling the soil beneath her to maintain a sense of balance and traction. Her vital neck is safeguarded in a protective layer of excess flesh and fat as her shoulders roll forward and her skull draws back some to scrunch her neck, tainted incisors unsheathed from blackened lips and gluttonous jaws set agape.
